Joanne Webb


The Curmudgeonly Clerk reports that the State of Texas has dropped its case against Joanne Webb, who was charged with the crime of trying to sell sex-toys—a blatantly unconstitutional law. I had looked forward to seeing that one fought out in court.

(The Clerk is correct that Lawrence does not clearly apply, because it only applies to non-commercial conduct. That’s exactly why I had looked forward to this case, since all private, adult, consensual commercial sexual conduct ought also to be legal!)
