A while back I was asked on a TV show whether I was opposed to government-imposed age limits. The specific example about which I was asked was the case of 16 year old Abbie Sunderland, who planned to sail around the world by herself. I said I thought age limits were probably a good idea, citing the case of Jessica Dubroff, who at the age of 7 died in a plane crash while trying to fly across the country. It looks, sadly, as though Abbie Sunderland has suffered a similar fate.
Update: She's okay!
