Moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue

Today is the 50th Anniversary of Barry Goldwater's iconic Republican Convention address. You can watch it here. Although the famous like "extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice...moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue" is often attributed to Karl Hess--and Goldwater inexplicably thought it came from Cicero--it was actually written by Harry V. Jaffa.
