John Singer Sargent's Lady Agnew of Lochnaw

My very favorite painting. Looking forward to seeing it in San Francisco next week. Here's a very nice introduction to the painting by Sargent expert Richard Ormond.

Sargent painted this in a half-dozen sittings with no preliminary drawings. Just painted it.
